What this check does not cover
Meeting the headline asset and headcount minimums is the starting point, not the full picture. This tool does not check:
- The tiered local business spending requirement (from S$200,000 a year, rising with AUM).
- The Capital Deployment Requirement: investing the lower of S$10 million or 10% of AUM into MAS-approved categories.
- The private banking account you must hold with an MAS-licensed institution.
- Each investment professional's income, time-commitment and Singapore tax-residency tests.
- For the Global Investor Programme: the Approval-in-Principle interview, the deployment timeline, and the job-creation commitment.
A licensed specialist confirms all of this against your actual structure before you file. See the full 13O vs 13U comparison and the Global Investor Programme guide for the detail behind each threshold.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool tell me if I am eligible for 13O, 13U or the GIP?
No. It compares the headline asset and investment-team minimums published by MAS and EDB against the two numbers you enter. It does not check the tiered local business spending requirement, the Capital Deployment Requirement, your private banking account, or the income, time and residency tests each investment professional must meet. A licensed specialist confirms your actual position before you apply.
What counts as assets under management for this check?
For Section 13O and 13U, MAS measures this as the fund’s assets in Designated Investments, the categories set out on its scheme page. For the Global Investor Programme family office route, EDB measures the total assets under management of the single family office, of which at least S$50 million must be deployed into approved Singapore investments.
Is my data stored when I use this tool?
No. The comparison runs in your browser only. The numbers you enter are never sent to us, saved, or shared. Nothing is submitted until you choose to use the Get Matched form separately.
I am under the 13O minimum today. Does that rule it out?
Not necessarily. MAS lets new 13O applicants enter with S$10 million in assets under management, given a two-year grace period in the letter of award to reach S$20 million. This tool flags that grace period when your number falls in that range; it does not assess whether your growth plan is realistic.
